The Footprint
This thought-provoking South Korean play follows the journey of a painter as he moves into an empty building, planning to use it as his private studio. But the people in the neighborhood have something else in mind. They keep barging in to demand rice and other groceries, saying that this place used to be a general store. He marries a woman who manages the new shop and keeps the customers happy—she had always dreamed of owning her own business. Before long, the painter finds himself drowning in a sea of material goods as he struggles to find a space that he truly feels comfortable in.
