Juneteenth Street
About the show
Juneteenth Street" is the journey of a family, a church, and a community after the death of their patriarch and head Pastor. His loss not only leaves the family reeling but now the community and church are at risk of being torn down due to gentrification promoted by one of their own. We invite you to join us in the sanctuary of Mount Saint Moses Missionary Baptist Church, where a leader and a community are reminded that true change is found in claiming your legacy.

“They say that most immoral acts we commit were arrived upon by a million unwise steps. None of the first steps are bad for you much but if we knew where they would lead we would have never taken the fateful first step. This play follows one man who feels like he is on a road that he never asked to be on and each step he takes leads him closer and closer to a slew of immoral decisions that threaten to undo him. Reginald Edmund’s play “Juneteenth Street” directed by Katharyn D. Brown illustrates that very journey and reminds us how we can feel pulled in so many directions in everyday life…”
