June 25, 26, and 27 at 7:30 PM Central Time

Coalescence Theatre Project and Prairie Pride Coalition are excited to be co-sponsoring a production of the acclaimed play BOY by award winning playwright Anna Ziegler. BOY will be staged on June 25, 26, and 27 at 7:30 PM Central Time to coincide with pride month. Tickets are available now through ShowTix4U and can be reserved on a “Pay What You can” basis at https://www.showtix4u.com/events/CoalescenceTheatre

Inspired by a true story, BOY explores the complicated terrain of trying to find love in a new body, and the inextricable bonds between doctor and patient. In the 1960s, a well-intentioned doctor convinces the parents of a male infant to raise their son as a girl after a terrible accident. Two decades later, the repercussions of that choice continue to unfold.

BOY touches upon issues of gender identity, gender dysphoria, conversion therapy, and authenticity. These themes are timely and resonate with the LGBTQIA+ community, in particular members of the local transgender and genderqueer populations who are underserved when it comes to theatrical offerings that speak to issues of importance to them.

The production will be among several events and activities PPC will offer during pride month to reach all sectors of our LGBTQIA+ community. Coalescence Theatre Project is honored to be working with Prairie Pride Coalition on this important production.

“Captivating…insightful, gut-wrenching, and beautiful…dazzlingly, deliciously alive from start to finish…expect it to be a long while before there’s another play more rewarding, more moving, and more magical than BOY.” —TalkinBroadway.com.
